CO₂ Fractional Laser Scar & Stretch Mark Removal Treatment
Scars and stretch marks can be a lasting reminder of life's changes — whether from pregnancy, weight fluctuation, surgery, acne, or injury. For many people, they are a source of genuine self-consciousness, particularly in areas that are difficult to conceal.
Our CO₂ Fractional Laser treatment offers one of the most clinically advanced solutions available for scar and stretch mark revision. Using precisely controlled laser energy, the treatment creates thousands of microscopic channels deep within the skin, triggering the body's natural healing response and stimulating the production of new collagen and elastin — the building blocks of smooth, healthy skin.
The result? Visibly reduced scars and stretch marks, improved skin texture, and a more even, refined appearance — with results that continue to develop for months after treatment.
What can it treat?
Our CO₂ Fractional Laser scar and stretch mark treatment is suitable for a wide range of concerns, including:
- Acne scarring — including deep pitted or rolling scars
- Surgical scars — including C-section scars and post-operative scarring
- Injury scars — helping to soften, flatten, and reduce the appearance of scarring
- Stretch marks — including those caused by pregnancy, rapid growth, or weight change
- Body scarring — across virtually any area of the body
Each treatment is entirely bespoke. During your consultation, Helen will assess the area in detail, discuss your goals, and create a personalised plan tailored specifically to your skin and your concerns.
What happens during treatment?
Your CO₂ Fractional Laser session is carried out by our highly trained and experienced team of laser specialists at our Manchester clinic.
Your therapist will carefully prepare the skin and guide you through each step of the treatment. The laser is applied in precise passes across the targeted area, delivering controlled energy to create microscopic channels within the skin. You may feel a warm, prickling sensation as the laser works — most clients find this very manageable, and numbing cream can be applied beforehand if required.
Sessions typically last 20 to 45 minutes depending on the size and number of areas being treated. Cooling methods are applied throughout to maximise comfort and minimise sensitivity.
What to expect after treatments?
After your session, the treated area may feel warm and appear red or flushed — similar to mild sunburn. Over the following days, some tightness and swelling can occur, along with a bronzed or textured appearance as the skin's natural regeneration begins.
Between days five and eight, the skin will begin to shed — this is a completely normal and expected part of the healing process. Clear aftercare guidance will be provided to support your skin throughout this stage.
Most clients notice improvements in texture and smoothness within the first week, with results continuing to develop as new collagen forms over the following two to three months. Optimum results are typically seen up to three months after treatment.
It is important to avoid direct sun exposure and apply a high-factor SPF sunscreen to the treated area during the healing period to protect your newly regenerated skin.
Most clients require 1 to 3 sessions, spaced 6 to 8 weeks apart, to achieve the best possible results. The exact number of sessions will depend on the type, depth, age, and size of the scar or stretch marks being treated — all of which will be discussed during your consultation.
This treatment is suitable for skin types 1 to 4. A consultation and patch test are required prior to treatment.
