Sun Damage Skin
Sun damage is one of the most common skin concerns we see at LaserHQ, and one of the most significant contributors to premature ageing. Years of sun exposure — even without burning — gradually breaks down collagen and elastin in the skin and triggers the overproduction of melanin, the pigment responsible for skin colour. The result is the tell-tale signs that so many people recognise: dark spots, age spots, freckles that have deepened over time, uneven skin tone, dull complexion and fine lines that seem to have appeared from nowhere. Sun damage can affect the face, hands, chest, décolletage and arms — anywhere that has been regularly exposed — and unlike a tan, it doesn't fade with time. Without treatment, it tends to become more pronounced with age.
Many people spend years applying serums, brightening creams and SPF in the hope of reversing what the sun has done, often with limited results. Topical products can help to a point, but they can't reach the deeper layers of the skin where the excess pigmentation actually lives — which is why a targeted laser treatment makes such a significant difference.
How does laser treatment help?
At LaserHQ we have developed Sunerase™ — our own patented laser treatment created specifically to target and reverse the visible effects of sun damage on the skin. Sunerase™ uses advanced Nd:YAG laser technology to penetrate the skin's layers and break down unwanted pigmentation at its source, targeting the melanin responsible for dark spots and uneven skin tone and effectively lightening and fading these areas without causing damage to the surrounding tissue. At the same time, Sunerase™ stimulates collagen production beneath the skin's surface, helping to smooth fine lines and firm the skin for a result that goes far beyond pigmentation removal alone.
The outcome is clearer, more even-toned skin with a healthy, youthful glow — and because Sunerase™ was developed in-house by our own team based on years of clinical experience, it is a treatment you won't find anywhere else. Results are visible from the very first session, with the skin looking brighter and more radiant almost immediately. The number of sessions required varies depending on the degree of sun damage, your skin type and your end goals, and we'll go through all of this during your initial consultation where we'll assess your skin and create a personalised treatment plan tailored specifically to you.
Please note that Sunerase™ is currently suitable for skin types 1 to 3. If you're unsure whether this applies to you, we'll confirm this during your consultation and recommend the most appropriate treatment if Sunerase™ isn't right for your skin tone.
