We can treat tanned skin as long as the tan isn't active in the skin. Therefore we recommend no sun exposure a minimum of 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after your treatments. We always recommend wearing a high factor suncream at least SPF50 during your laser treatment programme.
Whilst pregnant or breastfeeding, we would recommend that it is best to wait post-pregnancy (3 months) before having any treatments. This will allow time for your hormones to regulate so that you can get the best out of your treatments. It has also never been tested whether laser treatments are safe or unsafe for pregnant ladies.
Most people will need at least 8 -12 sessions for long term hair reduction. Hormone related hair, such as with PMOS, can sometimes require more sessions. The laser can only treat hairs that are in the growing phase or visible on the skin surface, as a result multiple treatments are required to treat all hair in the skin. Your therapist will give you a treatment plan at your consultation.
Yes our Primelase Excellence uses Blend technology which combines three different wavelengths, so we can safely treat every skin type. A patch test and consultation is required first.
Laser targets the pigment in the hair so very light hair responds less well. As there is no or little pigment in red and grey hair, this cannot be treated as successfully. Some lighter hair clients do receive results but it can be a longer process. We can test hair for you at your consultation and patch test and say if the treatment will be right for you.
Most people describe a warm prickling sensation during treatments and say its easier than waxing. Our machines have built in cooling technology to make the treatments comfortable.
Sessions are usually spaced 4-6 weeks apart depending on the treatment area and how many sessions you have had. Our therapists will create a personalised treatment plan for you.
The treatment provides long term hair reduction. It can remove anything between 80-100% of all hair. Any remaining hair is usually light and fluffy. Most client's enjoy smooth skin for years with occasional top up sessions.
Most people notice less hair, and finer regrowth, after 2 to 3 sessions. Hair sheds in the 1 to 3 weeks after each session. Full results usually come after at least 8 sessions.

Please refrain from applying any false tan for at least 7 days before your treatment. Please ensure any tan residue is completely removed from your skin before treatment. Fake tan can be applied 24 hours after treatments. If false tan is visible, the therapists will be unable to perform the treatment at that time, and you will be charged 50% of your treatment cost.
At your consultation, we will always ask if you are taking any medication. If so, we would always advise that you check with your GP first, if you are safe for the treatment. Some medications can cause light sensitive reactions, for which this treatment would be unsuitable.
Following your FREE consultation and patch test, you will need to wait at least 48 hours, before your commence with your first treatment. This is for insurance purposes and to check you have no reactions to the laser.
Sometimes skin imperfections such as pigmentation are actually caused by the hair. Once we have removed the vast majority of it this can improve the skin tone as the follicles have been removed.
Yes! As long as the scar is fully healed which can take up to 3 months. Our therapists will be able to check these for you at your consultation.
