Turkey Neck - Saggy Skin

"Turkey neck" is the term commonly used to describe loose, sagging and crepey skin on the neck — one of the most tell-tale signs of ageing, and one that many people feel self-conscious about. The skin on the neck is thinner and more delicate than the skin on the face, which makes it particularly vulnerable to the effects of time, sun exposure and gravity. As we age, our bodies produce less collagen and elastin — the proteins responsible for keeping skin firm and bouncy — and the neck is often one of the first places this becomes visible. The result is skin that appears loose, wrinkled or drooping, sometimes accompanied by horizontal lines or a crepey texture.

It's a concern that affects men and women alike, and it can make people feel like their neck gives their age away even when the rest of their face still looks youthful. For many, it's the area they're most aware of in photos, and no amount of skincare alone can fully address it once the skin has started to lose its structure.

How does laser treatment help?

At LaserHQ, we use fractional CO2 laser treatment to target loose and sagging neck skin without the need for surgery. The CO2 laser works by creating thousands of microscopic treatment zones beneath the skin's surface, which triggers the body's natural healing response and stimulates the production of new collagen and elastin. At the same time, the laser gently resurfaces the outermost layer of skin, removing sun damage, fine lines and textural irregularities to reveal fresher, firmer skin underneath. The overall effect is a tighter, smoother neck with noticeably improved skin quality.

The right treatment plan will depend on the degree of skin laxity, your skin type and tone, and whether we're also addressing pigmentation or texture alongside the sagging. We'll go through all of this during your consultation. Most clients will benefit from a course of sessions spaced several weeks apart to allow the skin to heal and new collagen to develop — results continue to improve over the weeks and months following treatment as the skin remodels itself from within.

CO2 laser is best suited to mild to moderate skin laxity — if you're concerned about more significant sagging we'll always be upfront with you about what laser treatment can realistically achieve and whether an alternative approach might be more appropriate. Honest expectations are something we take seriously, because we want you to feel genuinely confident in your results.
