Most people only experience mild, temporary effects. The common ones include slight redness, swelling, or a small scab forming where the cherry angioma was treated. In rare cases, there may be minor bruising, temporary skin darkening or lightening.
This depends on the size, number, and depth of the cherry angiomas. Many small lesions can be removed in a single session. However, if there are multiple spots or larger angiomas, you may need 2–3 sessions spaced several weeks apart. Your therapist will usually assess this during consultation.

Aftercare is fairly simple but important for good healing. You’ll typically be advised to keep the area clean and dry for the first 24 hours, avoid picking at any scabs, and apply a healing ointment if recommended. Sun protection is important to reduce the risk of pigmentation changes. You may also be told to avoid hot baths, swimming pools, saunas, and heavy sweating for a few days. Healing usually completes within 1–2 weeks, depending on the treatment depth.
