It operates across four distinct wavelengths — 810nm (Diode), a Blend of 810nm + 940nm + 1060nm, and 1060nm (Nd:YAG) — each optimised for different hair types, follicle depths, and skin tones. What this means in practice:
- 810nm is the gold standard wavelength for most skin types and hair densities, particularly effective in early sessions
- The Blend (810nm + 940nm + 1060nm) is delivered via the dedicated Blend head — a standout feature of the Primelase Excellence and one of the reasons it leads the field for treating darker skin types. By combining three wavelengths simultaneously, the Blend head penetrates multiple follicle depths at once while distributing heat more evenly across the skin. This dramatically reduces the risk of pigmentation or burning that can occur with single-wavelength systems on Fitzpatrick skin types IV–VI, making treatments not just effective but genuinely safe for darker skin tones
- 1060nm penetrates deeper into the skin, making it highly effective for more resistant hair and deeper follicles
This multi-wavelength capability — and in particular the Blend head technology — means we can treat every skin type safely and effectively, all year round, including on skin with a tan.
Ultra Short Pulse Technology — Precision Without Compromise
At the heart of the Primelase Excellence is its patented Ultra Short Pulse (USP) technology, which delivers laser energy in pulses as short as 3 milliseconds. This is significant for two reasons.
First, it allows the laser to reach the optimal temperature to destroy the hair follicle precisely and efficiently — without the energy diffusing into surrounding tissue. Second, it makes treatments considerably more comfortable than systems that deliver longer, hotter pulses. Most of our clients describe the sensation as a mild warmth or a brief tingling — a far cry from the painful snapping associated with older laser technology.
Crystal Freeze — Protecting Your Skin Throughout
